Specialist supplier of GRP

GRP systems for construction, industry and infrastructure

Byggkomposit supplies GRP products and complete systems for projects where corrosion, low self-weight, safe access and long technical service life are decisive.

We help clients, designers, engineers and contractors assess which product or system is relevant in relation to environment, load, function, installation and documentation requirements.

About Byggkomposit

What Byggkomposit contributes to the project

Byggkomposit supplies GRP grating, profiles, handrail systems, stairs, walkways, platforms and other technical composite solutions, together with aluminium and porcelain products.

We are responsible for the commercial contact, product selection, technical documentation, quotations and delivery for the Swedish market.

Through our partnership with Dura Composites, customers gain access to an extensive product range and specialist resources covering design, design support, machining, prefabrication and installation.

Our role is to make it easier to select the right product, gather the right documentation and create a clear route from requirement to delivered solution.

Local expertise, global manufacturing power

Material is what we sell. Solutions are what we deliver.

Byggkomposit is the exclusive Swedish distributor for Dura Composites Ltd. The arrangement gives Swedish customers access to an extensive range of GRP products and systems for construction, industry and infrastructure.

Dura Composites is responsible for product development, manufacturing and central technical resources. Byggkomposit provides the Swedish commercial contact, project support, quotations and distribution.

Dura Composites is a British manufacturer with more than 30 years of experience in composite solutions for construction and infrastructure. Its products include GRP grating, profiles, panels, walkways, platforms, stairs, handrailing, rail solutions and other technical systems.

We see ourselves as a resource rather than just a supplier — we're here to help you find the right solution, with quality in everything from material selection to documentation and communication.

Where required, Byggkomposit can coordinate support from Dura covering, for example:

  • product specification
  • technical documentation
  • design and engineering

How we work

How we work on the project

Every project has its own conditions. When we are involved early, we can help identify the right product, highlight important interfaces and gather the documentation needed for design, procurement and installation.

  1. Step 01

    Requirements and application

We review the application, environment, dimensions, load, function and the requirements the solution must meet.

  2. Step 02

    Product and system selection

We compare relevant products and systems against the project’s function, structure and requirements.

  3. Step 03

    Design documentation

We gather product data, load data, drawings and other documentation needed for the next project stage.

  4. Step 04

    Delivery and continued support

Delivery format, bespoke sizing, installation support and any installation work are planned according to the project agreement.

Documentation and performance

The right product should be verifiable

Technical products need to be assessed on more than appearance and price. We therefore help customers find relevant documentation for the product and application in question.

Depending on product and project, documentation may include:

  • technical datasheets
  • load and span tables
  • installation instructions
  • material information
  • slip resistance testing
  • fire classification
  • EPDs
  • certificates
  • performance data
  • drawings and component schedules
  • care and maintenance instructions

Not every document type exists for every product. Documentation must always relate to the correct product variant and the actual application.

Technical decision support

Product data and performance information make it easier to compare alternatives and verify product selection.

Documented product information

We help you find the documentation available for the product and solution the project concerns.

The right figure in the right place

Fire classification, loading and other performance data must always relate to the specific product variant.

A long-term material choice

Sustainability is about the whole service life

GRP is highly corrosion resistant and normally does not need painting, galvanising or rust protection treatment. This can reduce recurring maintenance and support a long service life in exposed environments.

Its light weight can also simplify transport, handling and installation.

For selected product families, documentation is available on material use, climate impact and circular material handling. Dura Composites has also developed methods for handling installation offcuts and end-of-life GRP products.

We help customers identify which environmental and product documentation exists for the solution relevant to the project.

Long service life

Corrosion resistant materials can reduce the need for replacement and recurring surface treatment.

Low maintenance

GRP normally does not need painting, galvanising or rust protection treatment.

Lightweight

Lighter components can simplify transport, lifting and installation.

Documented options

For selected products, EPDs and other environmental documentation support the project’s material choice.
