d2 Dura Grating is a patented GRP grating for walking surfaces, access platforms, stair treads and technical installations in environments where corrosion, low self-weight, electrical properties and a low maintenance requirement are decisive. The range covers moulded and pultruded grating in a number of mesh sizes, thicknesses and panel dimensions. Product selection is governed by load, clear span, supports, deflection limits, slip requirements, environment and any fire requirements. According to the manufacturer's documentation, the range achieves up to 33 per cent lower embodied carbon than comparable GRP products and classification B to EN 13501-1 for reaction to fire.
The range includes several types of GRP grating with different mesh sizes, thicknesses and load capacities, covering everything from walkways and service platforms to technical installations and process environments. The surface is gritted and designed to provide grip in both dry and wet conditions. According to the manufacturer's testing, the surface retains its performance under prolonged, intensive foot traffic. Slip requirements should be assessed against the actual environment of use. The low self-weight compared with many metal-based alternatives can simplify transport, handling and installation. The material normally requires no painting, galvanising or corrosion treatment. Load and clear span must be verified for each installation against load data and the supports used.

Dura GRP is part of the d2 range – a new generation of GRP products that combine higher performance with lower weight and reduced climate impact.
d2 Dura Grating is fire-rated, electrically insulating and corrosion-resistant. Its dense mesh passes the Ball Fall test with balls of 20 and 35 mm, reducing the risk of objects falling through the grating. The anti-slip surface also retains 95 per cent of its performance after one million steps.
d2 is up to 33 per cent lighter than traditional GRP grating without compromising strength or function. This makes it possible to choose lighter and thinner products that still meet the project's load and deflection requirements.
The patented design uses less raw material while maintaining high performance. The result is up to 33 per cent lower embodied carbon emissions compared with competing GRP products. The material can also be recycled.
We publish product and material data openly, so you can compare d2 with steel, timber and other GRP solutions based on documented facts. The d2 range has so far contributed to an estimated saving of nearly five million kilograms of carbon dioxide.

Since the d² range launched, its more efficient design has contributed to an estimated reduction of over 10 million kg CO₂e. Both installation offcuts and end-of-life GRP products can be collected and processed into new composite material, reducing waste and the need for new raw materials.
The self-declared environmental reports are based on life-cycle assessments and produced in accordance with ISO 14021 Type II. They provide clear information on the products' climate impact and can be used as a basis for design, carbon calculations and environmental certification of buildings and structures.
