From early concept to completed GRP solution

Byggkomposit helps you select, adapt and deliver the right composite solution for your project.

We can assist with technical advice, product selection, design documentation, bespoke fabrication, delivery and installation. Working together early makes it easier to find the right solution, coordinate connections and reduce the risk of late changes.

More than a product delivery

Support where it adds the most value

The right GRP product has to do more than match the dimensions. It needs to work with the loads, the substructure, the fixings, the surrounding structures and the environment where it will be used.

That is why we are happy to get involved early. Together we review the application, dimensions, loads, environmental exposure, the preferred delivery format and how the installation will be carried out.

You can ask us about a single question or involve us across several parts of the project – from product selection and technical documentation to bespoke components, delivery and installation.

Right from the start

An early product and material choice can reduce the risk of redesign, incorrect orders and late adjustments.

Adapted to the project

Products, dimensions, fixings and delivery format are adapted to the structure and the conditions on site.

One clear point of contact

We help coordinate product questions, technical documentation, delivery and the next step in the project.

Technical advice

The right product for the environment and the load

We help you compare products and find a solution that suits the function, environment and structure of the project.

Advice can cover the choice of GRP grating, profiles, panels, handrails, stairs, walkways, fencing and other component systems. We also review questions about corrosion, anti-slip performance, electrically insulating properties, fire classification, loading and maintenance.

Questions we often help with:

  • Which GRP product suits the application?
  • Which mesh size or panel type is needed?
  • Is an open or solid walking surface required?
  • Which clear span and load should the design be based on?
  • How should the solution connect to steel, concrete or other materials?
  • Which technical documents are needed in the project?

Often a drawing, a few dimensions or a description of the problem is enough to start the conversation.

Design support

Documentation that makes the solution easier to plan

When a project needs more than a standard product, we can help produce or coordinate technical documentation for the chosen solution.

Depending on the project and its scope, this can include:

  • product data and performance documentation
  • dimensioned product and system drawings
  • proposals for how components are built up
  • documentation for fixings and connections
  • load and span documentation
  • CAD and 3D files
  • BIM objects where available
  • EPDs and environmental documentation
  • installation and assembly documentation
  • coordination with surrounding structures

Engineering support and advanced calculations can be offered together with Dura Composites or another qualified party where required. Scope, responsibility and deliverables are defined for each individual project.

Clearer decision-making

Product data, drawings and documentation make it easier to compare options and make well-founded decisions.

Fewer late changes

Early checks of dimensions, loads and connections can reduce the risk of clashes and redesign.

A coordinated solution

Walking surface, supporting structure, handrails, fixings and adjoining structures can be treated as one whole.

Site survey and measurements

Better information before design and installation

For refurbishment work, complicated connections or hard-to-reach environments, a site visit can provide a more reliable basis for the work ahead.

We can help review:

  • existing dimensions and levels
  • supports and connection points
  • access and lifting options
  • the condition of the substructure
  • installation space
  • obstructions and building services
  • the need for bespoke sizing
  • delivery and installation conditions

For projects where traditional measurement is not sufficient, 3D scanning, laser scanning or drone surveying can in some cases be coordinated through Dura Composites or a qualified partner. Availability and any permits are checked for each project.

Bespoke cutting and prefabrication

More finished before delivery

GRP panels and profiles can be cut, machined and prepared to the project dimensions before they are delivered to site.

This can reduce the amount of work on site, simplify installation and limit waste. For larger or more complex structures, components can also be delivered in kit form or as fully or partly pre-assembled sections.

Possible services can include:

  • straight and angled cutting
  • drilling and cut-outs
  • marking and numbering
  • preparation of fixings
  • sizing to drawing
  • kits for assembly on site
  • prefabricated stairs and stair transitions
  • pre-assembled handrail sections
  • complete smaller access structures

Available machining methods, tolerances and delivery formats are always confirmed against the specific product and order.

Less work on site

Pre-cut and prepared components can reduce the need for machining on site.

Better use of material

Planned cutting can reduce waste and give better control of quantities and components.

Simpler installation

Marked kits or pre-assembled sections give a clearer and more efficient installation.

Delivery and installation

Coordinated from order to completed installation

We help plan the delivery around the project programme, the size of the components and the conditions on site.

Products can be delivered as standard components, pre-cut parts, marked kits or prefabricated sections. Where required we can also offer installation support or coordinate installation of the complete solution.

The service can include:

  • delivery planning
  • project-specific packaging
  • marking of components
  • coordination of delivery times
  • installation briefing
  • support during installation
  • complete installation
  • checks after completed installation

Installation scope and responsibility are always defined in the quotation and contract.

Discuss delivery and installation

Material delivery with installation support

For the client or contractor carrying out the installation who wants clearly defined components, documentation and support before installation.

Delivery and complete installation

For projects where Byggkomposit or an appointed installation partner coordinates delivery and installation of the agreed solution.

Documentation and follow-up

Documentation for handover and long-term management

A complete delivery involves more than the product itself. Depending on the project, we can help collect or coordinate relevant documentation for construction, handover and future management.

This can for example include:

  • product datasheets
  • technical manuals
  • installation instructions
  • fire and anti-slip documentation
  • EPDs and environmental information
  • drawings and component schedules
  • cleaning and maintenance instructions
  • documentation of the completed installation

Checks, final reviews and future inspections can be offered depending on the scope of the project and the agreed service. Our own final check is a supplier check and does not replace an independent inspection.

Early dialogue gives better conditions

Catch the important questions before the solution is fixed

When materials, dimensions and connections are discussed early, there is more scope to choose an efficient and well-adapted solution.

  • clearer product selection
  • better coordination with surrounding structures
  • fewer late changes
  • more considered use of material
  • simpler planning of delivery and installation
  • the right documentation at the right project stage

The project does not have to be fully designed. A simple sketch, photo or description is often enough to take the first step.

Frequently asked questions

Questions about our services

When should we contact Byggkomposit?

Preferably as early as possible. That gives more scope to compare products, check dimensions and loads and coordinate the solution with surrounding structures. You are equally welcome to contact us when the project is already designed and you need product selection, a quotation or delivery.

What information do you need from us?

It depends on the project. A drawing, sketch, photo, set of dimensions or a short description of the application is often a good starting point. Information about loads, clear span, environment, substructure and connections is valuable when available.

Can you help with drawings and technical documentation?

Yes, we can help with product data, technical documentation and project-specific drawings. Advanced engineering and calculation can be coordinated with Dura Composites or another qualified party where required. Scope and responsibility are defined for each project.

Can products be delivered to bespoke sizes?

Yes, many GRP panels and profiles can be cut, machined and prepared to drawing or project dimensions. Depending on the solution, components can also be delivered as marked kits or as fully or partly pre-assembled sections.

Do you offer installation?

Yes, installation can be offered for selected products and complete GRP solutions. Scope, division of work, site access and installation responsibility are defined in the quotation and contract.

Can you carry out a site survey?

Yes, site visits can be offered when dimensions, connections or installation conditions need to be reviewed on site. For some projects, more advanced surveying can also be coordinated.

Can we order material only?

Yes. You can order standard products or bespoke components without buying design support or installation. We are still happy to check that the right product has been chosen for the application.

Which sectors do you work with?

Our products and services are used in sectors such as industry, rail, energy, water and wastewater, marine environments, construction, property and technical infrastructure.
