Technical information
GRP — properties and data
An overview of the mechanical, chemical and thermal properties that make glass-reinforced plastic a first choice in demanding environments.
Strength
Tensile and flexural strength comparable to structural steel — at significantly lower weight.
Temperature resistance
Operating range typically -40 °C to +80 °C, with specialty resin up to +140 °C.
Electrically insulating
No galvanic corrosion, ideal for rail and electrical infrastructure.
Fire rating
Available to EN 13501-1, ASTM E84 Class 1 and similar standards.
Chemical resistance
Withstands acids, alkalis, salts and hydrocarbons — select resin by environment.
Dimensions
Standard profiles in metric and imperial sizes, cut to length.
Typical material values
