d2 GRP Phenolic — fire-rated grating for tunnels and offshore
Developed to withstand prolonged fire exposure without losing structural function. Dura Phenolic is a phenolic resin-based GRP grating with very high fire resistance and low smoke and toxicity emissions. It is used, amongst other applications, on offshore platforms, mobile drilling rigs, tunnels and underground railway systems. The product is tested to BS 6853 and BS 476 Class 0 and approved for use on the London Underground. Fire rating and approvals must be verified against the current technical datasheet and project requirements.
d2 GRP Phenolic is a high-strength GRP grating developed for environments with especially high fire safety requirements. The material has very good resistance to open flame and high temperatures and is engineered to retain its load-bearing capacity even under prolonged fire exposure.
The GRP grating emits less smoke and lower levels of toxic combustion gases than many other types of GRP grating. This makes it particularly suitable for tunnels, basement areas, public transport systems, offshore platforms and drilling installations. Its high structural performance also makes it a safe choice for elevated platforms and other structures where safety is critical.
d2 GRP Phenolic also combines high strength with low weight, an anti-slip surface and electrically insulating properties. It is a durable, low-maintenance alternative to traditional metal grating in demanding, fire-exposed environments.
